For my trip to India I decided to start on the east side of the country (Kolkata) and work my way west and south, ending in Goa. Since I was coming in from Bangkok this meant I needed to find a flight from Bangkok to Kolkata and once I realised Drukair was an option, there was simply no other choice! I headed straight to the Drukair site, which is remarkably user friendly, and booked flight KB121 at a cost of USD126. Quite reasonable I think and cheaper than Thai who flew at a much less friendly time of day. After finishing my day sightseeing at Sandringham, Norfolk, I drove the rental car down to London Luton and dropped it off. It was time to head to Paris and easyJet would be taking me there on one of their Airbus A319's. It would be my first ever trip on easyJet. After arriving at  the airport I saw this cute sign at the Pret a Manger sign, Keep It Clean For The Queen. I thought that was really cute and it's just freat to see so much national pride for their Queen. Her face or references to her were simply everywhere you went around England which I really love. Well I have to apologise for my delay in updating the blog due to personal reasons but I am back with Part 8 of the recent tour with the Royal theme. This post covers my return to london on British Midland International. I had a nice day in Berlin taking one of those open top tour buses on a hop on hop off style tour around the city. I thoroughly recommend it for seeing some of the major sights easily and covering them all quite quickly. Whilst I am in the mood for recommending things, may I suggest to my readers that if they are looking for quality accommodation at a good price in Berlin that they sample the Hampton by Hilton City West hotel. I was really impressed with the excellent service and modern comfortable rooms. It is also quite near to local bus lines making it easy to get around town. Now for the flight, and I used on of the airport buses to return to Tegel. The buses are all modern and clean and each stop is mentioned on the electronic display and also verbally announced...

As a fan of the bmi Diamond Club frequent flyer program and gold member with them, it was quite important to me to fly on the airline whilst I was in London. So I booked an overnight trip to Berlin and back to sample   bmi British Midland short haul international business class. With such an early departure I decided it made sense to stay at one of the many airport hotels so I got a room at the Crowne Plaza at a reasonable price. I ended up taking the Heathrow Express to Heathrow and then transferring onto one of the Hotel Hoppa buses to the hotel. In fact I was quite pleased with Crowne Plaza, the rooms were large and although the hotel looked pretty ordinary on the outside I found it quite comfortable. At 5am I woke up and had a quick shower before grabbing the 5.30am bus back to Terminal 1.
